Was looking at the hotel for a drawing and never realized the large degrade from the pilot design (on the left).

I think it was a good choice to simplify it down as the OG design was VERY complex compared to the new design (and some things like the carasoul up top didn't work well considering Alastor was moving his tower up to there). So while I like the pilot hotel more, 100% good move to change it to what we got.

HOWEVER, the pilot design gives that dingey, rundown feels SO MUCH better than the final design. I think background-wise the pilot is better in a lot of ways (like with colors, having them less saturated than the characters). But the hotel in the official series, especially the interior, didn't look as rundown and dingey as I think it was meant to.

You could argue "well Alastor could've spruced it up", but we see in the episode "Dad Beat Dad" a chandelier falling, cockroaches, and Lucifer clearly supposed to be unimpressed with the place. But the show had a very clean and nice looking hotel both interior and exterior. The pilot was good with it being dark and dirty feelings on both these ends. While the final design was super clean-looking but SUPPOSED to have a "roughness" to it, the pilot had a really nice exaggeration of its roughness that gave it a lot of character and made it more interesting. Between the two, I'm more interested in what's inside the pilot hotel than the final design. And it sorta sucks because season 1 ALREADY had the hotel rebuilt all nice and pretty (which like Lucifer showing up, SHOULD'VE been saved for a later season. I get why they did it, but I think the risk of not doing it in season 1 would've had a stronger payoff in the later seasons).

Again, I think it was obviously the right call not to make the hotel so complex for the show. However, there's a stronger mood and personality to the pilot hotel over the final one that feels like it wants to look super nice but it is supposed to be seen as rundown and needs to be fixed-up. And that sucks because I would've loved seeing the rundown place, but we really just got a nice-looking hotel that, in the universe, isn't supposed to be seen as "nice looking" or "clean" (and issues with the hotel concerning its structure and everything was ONLY brought up in "Dad Beat Dad". Little details like a character saying the plumbing was broken AGAIN or things breaking/falling in the background or something would've gone a long way).

It's just a bit of a bummer that the hotel really lost the mood and personality that it did have in the pilot when I really think they honestly could've kept those aspects without making it super complex. I don't dislike the final hotel design, but I don't like the lack of personality and mood it's SUPPOSED to have that the other design achieves.

i know that a lot of things changed as he got older and shit hit the fan multiple times, but i can't help but think that cloning a child would finally give him just enough of a reason to finally let go of being a vigilante. because as much as he learned to love being a hero, being robin, the moment he has this child is the moment when he decides yep guess that's it for me. and one of the main reasons is, deep down inside he still waited for this excuse. for something to force him into making this choice for himself. and nothing could've forced it better than realizing that there's plenty of vigilantes in gotham right now, but his child only has him, and his child needs him much more than gotham or even batman has ever had.

The Diaz parents are shitty parents but they aren't shitty in an exaggerated or caricatured way. Ramon wasn't trying to make Eddie into anything specific, there wasn't an expectation of perfection, he was just trying to raise him to be a man in the way that he perceived what being a man meant. Helena was not consciously trying to make Eddie into her pseudo husband/coparent/whatever but she still put those expectations onto him. Even now with them taking Chris and alienating him from his own father they are not doing it as a deliberate way to hurt Eddie but because they have convinced themselves this is the best solution. It's awful in a way that's so difficult to come to terms with because on the surface it just looks like a genuine effort, despite the hurt and damage it caused (and is still causing). But what they are doing now (and what Helena has been doing always) requires for a genuine cruelty and callousness towards Eddie even if it isn't conscious.

Ran isn't alive in in this alternate universe. I don't think i'll get into this in much detail tbh. But i do wanna ramble about it somewhere.

His cause of death? An Aptroid killed him.

I like to think their lives before his death were a lot more eventful. They were rebellious, went partying, Rindou was probably a part-time DJ. They have plenty of allies and connections, but also some enemies. They got into fights a lot and tended to each other's wounds, they celebrated each other's birthdays, they bicker about what to have for dinner. And Ran is just, gone one day.

Rindou isn't fond of Aptroids to begin with, most people aren't. But he knows not every Aptroid was designed to do the same things, he hates the ones that mega corporations use for combat. Agents, soldiers, bodyguards, he hates them all because their kind killed many innocent people and moreover, they killed his only family.

And Rindou was right there, too. Right there when his brother's life was taken. Rindou was all beaten up himself, but he still tried to save him. He still tried to reach out to him, and not only was he too late, he lost his arm in the process. Sometimes he wished he had just died that day, but he lived after getting his ass saved by Koko (i like to think koko is like a fixer in cyberpunk 2077).

He lived with one arm for a few days until he realized it was probably about time to get a cybernetic enhancement of sorts. He'd be stronger and protect himself more easily with it. And when that thought crossed his mind, he realizes he still has some will to live after all. Oh and ever since that day, he started taking on all kinds of jobs with the help of Koko's connections to clients in need. Rindou started getting known for his combat skills and his jobs have been more dangerous ever since.

When he gets his new arm, he thinks it's a shame Ran couldn't see it. He'd think it's really cool—he'd even get a matching arm on his right side. Matching tattoos, matching cybernetic arms, having each other's backs, Rindou longs for the days he's still around.

It's no wonder he was so on edge when he first met you in his apartment. Well, at least you're just a companion model and not some spy.

I'm really glad I waited till finishing the games to search stuff up about them but even without doing that I saw the eventual fight with Roland being spoiled in the most random ass place along with that cg of garion being made into binah

Sorry there wasn't much in the way of liveblogging this morning; I had a hunch they weren't going to... really stick the landing, so I watched it through first then went back to grab caps of moments I had Thoughts on.

I don't think I even wanna list my Issues with this as I did for episodes 7-9. It feels like too much but also too little (because it feels so little happened in these three episodes, and it was mostly stretched out sequences only focusing on 1-3 characters of the same groups the party's already been split into).

The idea of a show-constraint rewrite (keeping the same goals they had, limiting number of scenes / internal POV thoughts and episode numbers) coincidentally sounds like a fun challenge now, though... there's so much good in this season, so much love, and I can see where the team wanted to go. But I can also see better ways of getting there, and want to prove it's possible - that this story can be told in television. That it's not Campaign 1's fault, but a lack of clear direction, setup and good pacing.

4. If you could put this character in any other media, be it a book, a movie, anything, what would you put them in?

I've actually been thinking about a little Cyberpunk 2077 AU for him and Nik so that probably :3c It's still just random thoughts, but Nik being a fixer and Price maybe in Max-Tac or something ?? I had it on my list to draw them in a cyberpunk AU so hey

21. If you're a fic writer and have written for this character, what's your favorite thing to do when you're writing for this character? What's something you don't like?

I looooove writing Captain John Price acting so awkward and flustered around Nik because that man knows how to make him weak :3c I also adore writing his internal struggle with his sexuality and stuff, I think it makes him a very interesting character. His love for Nik VS the bullshit toxic masculinity he has been raised on, that sort of thing.

As for things I don't like writing about him, idk, maybe anything too technical? I keep it vague usually

22. If you're a fic reader, what's something you like in fics when it comes to this character? Something you don't like?

Looooove when people get his way of speaking + his accent right (like Rawr), always adds so much to the fic imo, and it's not easy to do. Also love him being a mess when flirted with but also him being a strict army captain is always mwah mwah mwah chef kiss. I love a good contrast so yes, all of this 🤌​

Nothing I don't like really comes to mind since the fics I end up reading don't really have anything I don't like in them. Guess I don't like when he's written as a daddy dom top but again, not the kind of stuff I read anyway !
